Ilona Andrews and the Hugh d’Ambray Novel

Hugh d’Ambray is a character from Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels series. He is an evil bastard who I love. If you’ve read the series, I’m sure you remember him. A year or two ago on April Fool’s Day, IA said they were going to write a Hugh novel called Warlord’s Price. They even posted a cover:

Alas, the Hugh book was nothing more than an April Fool’s Day prank. I was devastated along with many others. Hugh steals the scenes when he is on the page. Yeah he’s bad, but I like bad boys. He’s smart, devious, powerful, and one hell of a badass with a sword. A novel about him would be very entertaining.

For a long time it seemed like a Hugh novel would not come to fruition. Yesterday I noticed a blog post by Beth Woodward about the possibility of a Hugh novel. It pointed out a very interesting comment on one of IA’s recent posts.

Hugh comment 1

I mentioned the comment to some other diehard IA fans to see if they knew if there was any truth to it. Then one of them noticed another comment further down.

Hugh comment 2

So it looks like it’s happening for real this time! Squuueeeeeee!!!

This isn’t an official announcement from them, so it’s not 100% definite. Based on those comments, I’d say the chances of a Hugh book are damn good. This is AWESOME!!! I am so freaking excited!
