Series: Darkest London #6

Eliza May came from America to escape her troubles, but she ended up bound (literally) to Adam, the creator of the GIM. He wanted something from her, but she didn’t know what. She was freed from him. Then her Aunt Mab, who she had closer ties to than she ever knew, took her in. She quickly learned her aunt was not a kind person and had hidden motives where Eliza was concerned.

Adam had been cursed. He had a soulmate, which is someone else who shares his soul. The soulmate had to accept him for him to beat the curse. Of course he and his soulmate did not get along. Adam would do anything to get her and to get out of the predicament he was in. The only way for Adam and Eliza to escape their miserable fates was to work together, but they had other forces working against them.

Adam and Eliza had some big issues to overcome. He had not treated her fairly in the past. Plus he had a cocky attitude that rubbed Eliza the wrong way. Their romance was the slow burning type. They really got to know each other. They had good chemistry whether they were getting along or not.

The groundwork for the next book was set up. I’m assuming that Sin will be the main character. His ties to Mab were explained, but his life took an unexpected turn. The world building in this series is excellent. More is revealed about the supernatural world and those who control it in every book. All of these books tie together nicely.

Thank you netgalley for providing me with this in exchange for a review!
